The NEC of the All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations and Govt. Employees Federations  have decided to go on strike on 7^th September against Price Rise, Disinvestment of Public Sector and Demanding food security, social security and Assured Pension for those who have joined service after 01-01-2004. The NEC requests all its associates to participate in suitable forms of struggle including strike and to focus also their resistance to Privatisation, Centralisation and Commercialisation of Education and demand strengthening of Public education.  

            The NEC resolves to be part of the National Forum in defence of Education, a movement of teachers, students, parents, popular science movements, other organisations working in the field of education and the youth movements to protest against the anti-people educational policies of the Govt. of India. The NEC calls upon the affiliates to involve all sections of people in this movement to make it a broad-based movement and to participate in state/ district/ institution level conventions in the following months culminating in a massive March to Parliament on 2^nd December2010.

           AIFUCTO calls upon all sections of people to resist the neo-liberal, neo-colonial educational policies pursued by the Govt. of India and to make the action programmes of the National Forum in Defence of Education a success.
