Members victimized – Send Fax and Telegram

The General Council met on 19-06-2011 at St.John’s College, Palayamkottai has resolved to send appeal to Government officials through fax message and telegram to the the Secretary and Correspondent of the College.

The unit secretaries are requested to send the fax and telegram on 22-06-2011.

Sub: VHNSN College, Virudhunagar – Victimisatation of teachers by the Management – Intervention and action requested.

            We bring the following to your kind notice and for suitable action.

The management of VHNSN College, Virudhunagar has been indulging in victimizing the teachers, flouting the Government rules.

Prof.P.Mutharasu of Mathematics Department was compelled to handle the classes of other teachers against the government rules with an ulterior motive. The management served memos and suspended him while an enquiry is going on.

The management has issued pay cut orders after not claiming the salary for the following three teachers.

Prof.R.Mohan of Mathematics Department was given pay cut for three days for attending University valuation work.

Prof.S.Chelian of Mathematics Department was effected pay cut for availing Restricted Holiday.

Prof.S.Shanmugavel of Tamil Department was effected with partial pay cut for five days and has been served memo for the recovery of pay given for sixteen days for availing medical leave.

The management is victimizing the teachers for expressing their views on the undemocratic decision of bringing autonomy to the college without following the UGC guidelines.

Hence we request your goodself to intervene in this matter and render justice to the victimized staff. Further we request you to direct the management to follow the UGC and government rules without any violation.
