Picketing in Madurai and Tirunelveli on 03-11-2012 – Improve the service conditions of Self-financing Teachers and Withdraw New Pension Scheme
Massive picketing programme was organized by MUTA at Madurai and Tirunelveli on 03-11-2012, demanding the Government of Tamilnadu and Government of India to safeguard the service conditions of the teachers working under unaided stream in self financing colleges, self financing courses in government aided colleges, constituent colleges of universities and University colleges. MUTA has also demanded the withdrawal of Contributory pension scheme for those teachers joined in the services after 01-04-2003 and the implementation of Carreeer advancement Scheme as per existing regulations for those joined in the services after 01-01-2006.

The picketing was held near Periyar Bus Stand at Madurai on 03-11-2012. S.Vivekanadan-MUTA President, N.Murali-MUTA Zone I President, N.Thenpandian-MUTA Zone II President, A.T.Senthamaraikannan- MUTA Zone I Secretary, and S.Kalyanaraman-MUTA Zone II Secretary presided over the picketing programme in which more than 150 teachers participated. Gokulnath Bapu (TANRECTA), Mohan (TNPTF), Alagarsamy (TNRSCTA) Parthasarathi (Former national Secretary, AIFUCTO), Suresh (TNPGTA) and Kanagarajan (TANTSAC) felicitated the teachers participated in the picketing.

At Tirunelveli, more than 500 teachers participated in the picketing held near Junction Bus Stand on 03-11-2012. T.Manohara Justus-General Secretary, MUTA presided over the picketing programme in the presence of S.Subbaraju-Treasurer, MUTA and other Zonal office bearers. Ponnuraj (Former President, MUTA), Mohan (CITU), Manoharan (TANTSAC) and AshokRaj (SFI) offered their felicitations the teachers participated in the picketing.
